I'm an engineer who likes working with tech and data to help people solve problems. I firmly believe that tech shouldn't be self-serving. What I like doing best is connecting with people, sharing knowledge, and discovering how data can help improve life and work.
I have an educational background in business informatics and hands-on experience in various data-related roles, from analyst, to developer advocate, to data platform engineer.
Friends and colleagues describe me as ambitious, decisive, and result-oriented. The question I like to ask most is "Why?" and the answer I would rather not hear is "Because we have always done it this way."
The thing I value most in my work is ownership. I love being able to point at something and say: "I made that." My dream job is one where I can combine deep technical work with a more people-focused role.
Stack: Python, SQL, Git, Terraform, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, AWS, BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, Airflow, Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, Bash, and everything necessary to create this website
I work as a freelance engineer, operating under the trade name binary3. In this capacity, I am currently working for ASN Bank as an AWS engineer.
Additionally, I serve as an elected council member in Utrechtse Heuvelrug, representing PRO Heuvelrug. In this role, I focus on spatial topics like housing, mobility, and sustainability.
Outside work, I enjoy photography, learning Spanish, hiking, and climbing. My partner and I have a rather lively Wheaten Terrier to keep us busy.

Outside of work I love trekking through nature and sleeping in a tent. When not travelling, I really enjoy organising stuff. Perhaps you might know me from one of the events I have helped organise in the past:
